Caliber 5.3.0 - Exercise Search Screen Revamp and More!
Â
Here's what's new in version 5.3.0 👇
Â
Redesigned Exercise Search Screen
This was the final part of the workout experience that hadn’t yet been rebuilt for Dark Mode, so this should now feel a lot more consistent and cohesive. With the screen more specifically, we’ve made quite a few refinements:
Â
- Shifted the filtering UX to match the Workout Library, so you can now more easily apply different types of filters to refine your searches.
Â
- Added a ‘Type’ filter, allowing you to filter between Strength and Mobility exercises (we’re planning to add other filters too, like one for injuries).
Â
- Improved the exercise search itself, where it should now populate results much more quickly with each keystroke (we’re still planning to implement elastic search here quite soon too, allowing for semantic matching, so that you can find exercises under different names).
Â
- Added the ability to add/substitute exercises directly from the Exercise Preview screen, so that you don’t have to tap back and forth as you discover exercises you'd like to add.
Â
Redesigned Edit Exercise Flow
Previously when you wanted to edit an exercise, it would bring you to a separate screen, which always felt cumbersome for something that should be very lightweight. With this update, you’ll now be able to quickly edit exercises on the same screen, as part of a dynamic bottom sheet.
Â
As part of this, you’ll now see that all of the exercise parameters have default values, so you can quickly set up an exercise with just a few taps. With our next release, we’ll be adding default settings for all of these exercise parameters, which would then automatically populate for any exercise that you add to a workout.
Â
Redesigned Superset Flow
The superset creation/edit flow had always been something of a sore spot in the app - very heavy and confusing to use. With this rebuild, you can now fully create and edit supersets on the main workout screen, as part of a bottom sheet.
Â
The creation flow is also a lot more guided, so you should now be able to construct a superset within just a few seconds.
Â
With our next release, will be including A LOT of customization options and several highly-requested features. This includes the ability to choose between a Sunday/Monday start date for the week, weight/rep field order, Home Screen widget customization, and an automatic rest timer option, just to name a few.
Â
Until then, I hope that you all enjoy the latest updates, and as always please let us know if you have any questions or feedback!
